Road trip around Southern Italy

Last week, I not only had the opportunity to spend time with Fr. Shawn and his family in Rome, but I was blessed to be able to travel with them throughout Italy by car! It was a blast and we got to see tons of sites in just four days.

This picture captures just a little of the beautiful city of Sorrento.

The Island of Capri.

The Amalfi Coast, right off of the little city Amalfi.

Amalfi is known for two attractions. First, Saint Andrew's Cathedral which holds the relics of St. Andrew (11th century, late Boroque Style) and the delicious "digestivo" (an after dinner drink), Lemoncello (pictured below).

The four day trip ended with a visit to the ancient city of Pompeii. The Volcanic eruption of Mt. Vesuvius, buried the city in 79 A.D. and it was accidently rediscovered in 1592.
